Text box in Power Point 2007:

Text box in Power Point 2007: Text box is a rectangular box that is use to enter text or image. It can be moves around the slide easily. Ms Power point provides the facility to resize and place text boxes easily and flexibly. The user can apply borders & shading to text boxes and rotate the orientation of text boxes etc. the following procedure is use to add text box:

  • Click Insert > Text Box OR click Text Box icon from Drawing toolbar. The shape or cursor will change.
  • Move the cursor to the place where the text box is to be place and drag the mouse while pressing the left mouse button. The text box will be created.

Resizing text Boxes:

The following procedure is use to resize a Text Box:

  • Click once on box’s any border. The box is now highlighted.
  • Sizing handles (small circles) appear. Hover mouse pointer over any sizing handles (small circles) until it turns into a diagonally pointing arrow.
  • Click and drag the sizing handle until the box is the desired size.

Moving a Text Box

The following procedure is use to move Text box:

  • Click once on the text box’s border.
  • Hover mouse pointer over the border until it becomes a crosshair with arrows.
  • Click and drag the box until it is in the desired location.

The Format Text Dialog Box

The text box in Word has white background with a thin black border by default. It can be changed with different fill colors and lines. Size, layout using format Text box dialog box.

  • Double click on a text box border. The Format Text  Box dialog box appears. OR
  • Right click on text box border and select Format Text box. The Format Text box dialog box appears.

Deleting a Text Box:

The following procedure is use to delete a text box from a template:

  • Click the border of the text box.
  • Press Delete key.

The formatting Toolbar

Power point’s default font or text type is Arial. The user can change the font type, font size etc. the Formatting toolbar is used to set the color, size and appearance of text box.

Some important formatting options are as following:

  • Font type
  • Font size
  • Bold, Italics, and Underline
  • Center, Align Left, and Align Right
  • Bullets and Numbering
  • Font color
  • Increase Font Size
  • Decrease Indent
  • Changing the Font

The following procedure is use to change the font of text box:

  • Select the character (s) to format.
  • Click the arrow on Font box on Formatting toolbar. The font list is displayed.
  • Select any font to apply. The font will be applied on the selected text.

Changing the Font Size

The following procedure is use to change font size:

  • Select the text to be formatted.
  • Select font size form Font Size drop down box on Formatting toolbar.  OR type a new font size press Enter. The font size of the selected text will be changed.

Changing the Font styles:

The following procedure is use to change font style

  • Select the text to be formatted.
  • Choose one or more of the following options
  • Click the Bold button on the Formatting toolbar. OR press Ctrl + B
  • Click the italic button on the Formatting toolbar. OR Press Ctrl + I
  • Click the Underline button on the Formatting toolbar. OR Press Ctrl + U
