Parts of Speech:
To define the word The parts of Speech we can say that these are the word which tell us about the work which a word does in a sentence. There are Eight parts of speech:
- Noun
- Pronoun
- Adjective
- Verb
- Adverb,
- Preposition,
- Conjunction
- Interjection.
The Noun
A noun is word which is used for the name of a person, a place, a thing or an idea. OR
A Noun names a person ,a place or a idea.
Today ,our teacher is taking our class in the main hall of the college.
Teacher …………………….Person
Taking class……………….Name of action
Main Hall,college……….Places.
The Division of Noun
(i) Countable Nouns:
This kind of noun stands for as name of the things which are counted.
Spoon, Pencil,Table, Bottle. Copy,Birds, etc.
Note:Countable nouns have also two forma:
- Singular
- Plural:

Note 2: Some nouns are use only in singular form
For Example:
Furniture, scenery, Off spring, Luggage, information, Poetry, Fish, etc.
(ii) Uncountable Noun Or Non countable nouns:
This kind of noun stand for the names of materials Or abstract ideas which are not counted. Neither there is plural form of them nor there is used any article before them.
For example: Wood wool, death, silver, gold, beauty, honesty, iron ,etc.
