Inserting a New Slide:

Working with Slides Ms Power point 2007

The following procedure is used to insert a new slide:

  • Click arrow insert > New Slide OR press Ctrl + M.
  • Move arrow pointer over layouts OR use the scroll bar and choose a slide layout. A gray bar appears on the right.
  • Click down pointing arrow and choose Insert New Slide. OR
  • Click New Slide button at the top of the screen.
  • Move arrow pointer over layouts OR use scroll bar and choose a design layout. A gray bar appears on right
  • Click down pointing arrow and choose Insert New slide.

Slide auto Layout

Layout refers to the way things are arranged on a slide. A layout contains placeholders to hold text, slide content such as tables, charts and chip art. All available layouts appear in slide Layout Task pane. There are different types of slide layouts in power Point. Different slide layout can be used depending on the type of presentation being creating. The user can also use the same slide layout for many slides.

Different categories of slide layouts are:

  • Text Layouts
  • Text and contents layouts
  • Other Layouts

Changing slide Layout:

The following procedure is use to change slide layout:

  • Select the slide to be changed.
  • Click Format menu.
  • Select slide Layout
  • The Auto Layout window will again appear.
  • Choose the desired Layout.
  • Click reapply.

Reordering slides:

The following procedure is use to change slide layout.

  • Recording slide in Slide sorter View:

Click on the slide to move and drag it to new location.

  • Recording slide in Normal or Outline View:

Click slide icon beside number of the slide to move and drag the icon to a new location.

Hiding & un hiding slides:

The following procedure is use to hide a slide:

  • Select the slide to hide.
  • Click Slide Show > Hide Slide.
  • Select Slide Show > Hide Slide to unhide the slide.

Copying a Slide:

The following procedure is use to copy a slide:

  • Click the slide to copy in the pane on the left.
  • Click on copy button on standard toolbar OR press Ctrl +C
  • Move the arrow pointer where the slide is to be copied.
  • Click Paste Button on Standard toolbar OR press Ctrl + V.

Deleting a Slide:

The following procedure is use to delete a slide:

  • Click the slide.
  • Press Delete on keyboard. OR
  • Right click the slide to delete in the pane to the left and select Delete Slide.

Custom show:

A custom slide show is a presentation created from specific s slides from an existing presentation.

  • Open presentation.
  • Click on the slide show menu.
  • Click on custom show. The new show window will appear
  • Click New . The Define custom show window will appear.
  • Name the custom show.
  • To add slides to the show, highlight the desired slide, and click Add.
  • To change the order of the show, use the arrows to the right of the slides in Slides in custom show box.
  • Click OK.

Edit a custom Slide show

  • Select Slide Show > Custom Show.
  • Edit the show by highlighting the name in custom shows box and clicking Edit…..
  • To delete a show, highlight the name and click Remove.
  • Create a copy of a show clicking the copy button. The copy can then be renamed by clicking the Edit …..button.
  • Click the Show button to preview the custom slide show and click Close to exit.
